The Sub Regional Office Nagpur geographically located at the centre of India, has the distinction of being one of the oldest centers of implementation of the ESI Scheme. The SRO Building at the present location was constructed in the year 1974. However in keeping with the present times, the SRO Building has been completely renovated and a New Modern State of art Building has come up in its place. The new building boast of excellent amenities like Centrally Air Conditioned Office with modular furniture, a good Conference hall, Multipurpose Cultural Hall, facility for Video Conferencing and a modern Cafeteria.
The Sub Region has a network of 13 Branch Offices to provide various Cash benefits to the Insured Persons, and 13 Inspection Divisions to effectively monitor the implementation of the Scheme. The Branch Offices also act as Facilitation Centers for dissemination of information to the Employers and Insured Persons.
To further augment and improve the service delivery mechanism, ESIC HQ New Delhi has initiated the biggest IT Enablement programme call “PROJECT PANCHDEEP”. Under this Project, the entire functioning of SRO and all the Branch Offices are being done through On Line Mode.
In its Endeavour to achieve Continual Improvement in its overall functioning, the Sub Regional Office has obtained Certification under ISO 9001:2008 Standards from M/s Indian Register Quality Systems.
